The client's legacy Data Quality Platform was designed for a single organization, leaving it unable to support a complex corporate separation without significant operational risk. Following a major European business split, the organization needed a secure multi-tenant platform capable of supporting two fully independent companies with separate users, workflows, validation rules, and governance, while delivering the transformation on an accelerated timeline.
Following a major corporate restructuring, a leading European enterprise split into two independent companies almost overnight. Its existing Data Quality Platform (DQP), a web-based front end supporting SAP data entry, validation, and approval workflows, had been designed for a single organization and could no longer support the new operating model. Rather than rebuilding the platform from scratch, the business needed to transform it into a secure, scalable multi-tenant solution while maintaining business continuity. Key challenges included:
Single-Tenant Architecture: The existing platform was built for one organization, with no ability to support multiple companies operating independently within the same environment. A complete architectural redesign was required without disrupting ongoing operations.
No Company-Level Data Separation: Users, workflows, approvals, and master data were all managed within a shared structure. The new businesses required complete data segregation to ensure each organization could only access its own information.
Different Business Rules & Approval Processes: Each newly formed company required its own validation rules, custom data entry forms, user permissions, and multi-level approval workflows. The legacy platform could not accommodate organization-specific processes.
Aggressive Transformation Timeline: The platform had to be redesigned, rebuilt, tested, and deployed within an accelerated timeline to align with the corporate separation, leaving little room for disruption or manual workarounds.
Aligned Automation rebuilt the Data Quality Platform from the ground up using a scalable multi-tenant architecture, enabling both organizations to operate independently within a single secure platform while preserving operational continuity.
Multi-Tenant Platform Architecture: The application was re-engineered to support multiple companies within one platform while maintaining complete isolation of users, data, workflows, and governance for each organization.
Independent Business Rules & Validation: Custom forms, validation logic, and business rules were developed for each company, allowing both organizations to operate according to their own unique processes without impacting one another.
Automated Approval Workflows: Company-specific multi-level approval workflows replaced manual email chains and spreadsheet-based coordination, embedding governance directly into the platform and significantly improving operational efficiency.
Secure Data Governance: Robust access controls and data segregation ensured users could only view and manage records belonging to their own organization, providing secure separation while simplifying platform administration.
The organization successfully transitioned from a single-company application to a modern multi-tenant enterprise platform without rebuilding separate systems for each business. Both companies now operate independently within the same secure environment, each with its own users, workflows, validation rules, and governance model. Manual approval processes were fully eliminated, platform scalability was significantly improved, and the project was delivered one month ahead of schedule, providing a future-ready foundation capable of supporting additional business units and organizational growth.
