Aligned Automation designed and implemented the Every Defect Matters (EDM) platform using a three-layer architecture that combined Jira Service Management, SQL Server, ScriptRunner automation, and AI-powered ticket creation.
- Centralized Defect Management: Jira Service Management became the central hub for defect intake and workflow management across four categories: RDR, DSA, DCLCA, and CSG escalations. Every ticket could now be tracked from initial submission through root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Unified Data Foundation: SQL Server established a single source of truth for defect information, enabling ticket-volume tracking, trend analysis, and identification of team capability gaps beyond Jira’s native reporting functionality.
- Automated Record Management: Custom ScriptRunner and Groovy scripts automated data validation, bulk record updates, and ticket-field population using details such as fiscal week, agent name, and region.
- AI-Powered Ticket Creation: AI automation generated defect tickets from predefined triggers, eliminating manual entry for high-volume and time-sensitive defect categories while accelerating time to resolution.
- Single-Click Escalation: A custom escalation button sent alerts directly to the responsible individual, replacing slow group-inbox email chains and reducing the time required to engage the right stakeholders.
- Scalable Platform Design: The EDM roadmap established a foundation for broader defect coverage, expanded team training, automated reporting, and adoption across additional products and regions.
