Faced with manual configuration challenges and risks of human error, we implemented Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate Azure deployments. Utilizing Azure CLI, Terraform, and ARM templates, we standardized provisioning, enhanced visibility, and streamlined dependency management for efficient infrastructure operations.
This multinational oil and gas company is among the world’s largest companies out of any industry. This $381 billion company has over 86,000 employees worldwide and a presence in more than 70 countries.
Infrastructure provisioning and configuration were heavily manual, inconsistent, and difficult to scale.
Teams relied on a mix of tools and ad hoc processes to deploy environments, resulting in long setup times, limited visibility into infrastructure states, and a high risk of configuration errors.
As environments grew more complex, dependency management became increasingly fragile, slowing down deployments and introducing operational risk.
Aligned Automation implemented a robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) framework on Microsoft Azure, transforming infrastructure provisioning into a standardized, automated, and repeatable process.
Using a combination of Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM templates, Bicep, and Terraform, the solution enabled teams to define, deploy, and manage infrastructure through code.
A parameter-driven architecture was introduced to dynamically configure environments, ensuring consistency while allowing flexibility across use cases.
Key capabilities included:
Infrastructure moved from manual, error-prone setup to fully automated, version-controlled deployments.
Teams gained real-time visibility into infrastructure states, reduced provisioning time significantly, and eliminated inconsistencies across environments, enabling faster, more reliable delivery at scale.
